The City of Ember

My Reflection

This term we are reading The City of Ember.

Our task was to go onto Tagul the website  and write everything we know about Ember.

I found this tricky because I have already watched the movie and I wasn't aloud to spoil it.

Other then that I found this task easy because I listened carefully to the story for extra detail I didn't get in the movie. I think I did well because I added everything I knew about The City of Ember.

Next time I'll try put more interesting words in there so you get more detail about the story.  

Little Red Ridding Hood Compressing Map.

Reflection.

I was learning to compare Roald Dahl version of little red riding hood  compared to the original

little red riding hood. I found this work easy because I could remember the two

videos so it was easier to compare them. Next time I want to 

add more interesting words for there character.  

Cry of the Taniwha Prejudice Example

My Reflection.

During the term we have been reading a book Cry of the Taniwha.

In this evidence we were learning to write about what the character is like on the outside and  what the character is like on the inside (things people don't know about them).I found this work easy because I knew what my thoughts were at the beginning of the novel and my thoughts at the end. My next step is to try add more interesting words to explain a characters personality. 

Natural Disaster Brainstorm

Reflection

I have been learning to summarise and record my research in my own words.

I found summarising the information into my own words challenging 

because there are a few words that was really tricky to replace.

I found this work interesting because you learn how to be prepared for a natural disaster.

I learnt that the ash from a volcano gets into your lungs it turns into a cement-like paste 

and makes it impossible to breath. I found this helpful for my narrative because if there was a natural

disaster we would be prepared and know what to expect.

My next step is to look into more research to learn more about a natural disaster and the damage

it can do.I had fun doing this work and it wouldn't be a problem to do this kind of work again.       

Leslie Burke

Reflection.

I was learning to write an obituary for the character Leslie Burke.

I found this challenging because I have never written in that kind of style before.

I enjoyed doing it because it was really interesting and I kind of enjoy a challenge.

Next time I will try fit in more about her family not just her.  

Comparing characters

My Reflection.

In this evidence we had to do a ven diagram

about comparing characters.

While we were  doing this work 

I thound this work easy because I have

seen the moive and now we are reading the book.

Next time we do this sort of thing I want to challenge myself

to put more words in the middle
